DID YOU KNOW?

Part of our building on West 95th Street was home to 8-year-old Virginia O’Hanlon when she wrote a letter to The New York Sun that resulted in the 1897 editorial, “Yes, Virginia, There is a Santa Claus!” Today, the Virginia O’Hanlon Scholarship Fund provides need-based aid for students of merit and honors not only Virginia’s personal quest for truth and knowledge, but also her life as an educator and advocate for children.
