Fundraising Events
A easy way to give to The
Studio School is to participate in the many wonderful
fund-raising events that are held each year. These
events not only raise a great deal of money for
the school, but are also a great way to meet
other parents through both volunteering and attending.
Sally
Foster
The Sally Foster gift-wrap
sale is the first fundraiser of the school year.
It is a very easy way to give to The Studio School
because a full 50% of the gross amount of sales
comes directly back to the school. Catalogues
and order forms are distributed to all The Studio
School families, and we encourage all members
of our community to sell to friends, family,
neighbors, fellow office workers, and others. Giftwrap,
ribbons, gift bags, as well as small gift items
and candy, nuts and chocolates are offered for
sale. Items are ordered using order forms,
and delivery to the school (for pick-up) is guaranteed
before Thanksgiving and the holidays. Items
can also be ordered online with delivery direct
to the buyer, making it easy for out-of-town
relatives and friends to support by ordering
from Sally Foster.
Bake Sale
In
2005, we experimented with hosting a Bake Sale
in which members of our community preordered
cakes, cookies, pies, muffins, and more. It
was a resounding success so this year organized
two sales, with one pickup on Wednesday, November 22
(just before Thanksgiving), and a second pickup
on Friday, December 22 (just before Winter
Recess). This is another way to help the
school by buying these delicious baked goods
for your own holiday meals, and as gifts for
friends and relatives. It’s also
a great way to participate in school life by
volunteering to be on the Bake Sale committee,
and/or to offer to be a baker!
Online Auction
In
the fall, The Studio School hosts an Online Auction
via the school’s web-site, www.studioschoolnyc.org. A
wide selection of exciting items are offered,
including tickets to theatre, concerts, and sporting
events, music, beautiful jewelry, clothing, dinners
at fine restaurants or dinners catered at your
home, and many other gift items. This
fund-raising event has been a rousing success,
and with the ease of online buying, enables friends
and family, far and wide, to join in supporting
The Studio School.
Annual Gala
The
Annual Gala is Studio’s biggest fundraising
event of the year. It is planned and organized
by parent volunteers who, year after year, give
their time, talent, and skills to make this gathering
an affair to remember. Whether it’s
hip, contemporary Mexican fare, or an elegant
evening in a first class steakhouse, a traditional
Chinese banquet, a Casino night, or a swinging
50’s theme party, we pull out all the stops
to make this bash great fun and a whopping fiscal
success! The evening includes wonderful
food, great ambience, and lively music and dancing. The
entire community helps to solicit donations and
these donations are used to raise money through
live and silent auctions. Please contact
Gala Chair and Studio parent, Nicki Coddington,
if you would like to serve on the Annual Gala
Committee. It’s a lot of fun and
a great way to meet other parents.
