The Studio School

High School Placement

Studio graduates attend the top public and private high schools, boarding schools, and universities in the nation. They go forth in this ever-changing and diverse world with compassion and a sense of responsibility, making a strong impact on all those around them.

Beginning in the spring of their seventh-grade year, our teachers and staff work closely with each student and their family to help them identify what they are looking for in a high school, decide what schools to apply to, and guide them through the application and selection process. Their close collaboration continues throughout the eighth-grade year, ultimately helping them learn how to make impactful decisions about their lives.

Our graduates benefit from the intelligence and care that exemplifies the Studio School Approach, which permeates the academic rigor of our curriculum and the relationships that are built each and every day.

With their high academic achievement, thirst for knowledge, and exceptional understanding of interpersonal dynamics, Studio School graduates are mature, poised, and self-confident.

“The truth is, I’ve had many experiences here during my nine years at Studio that have all helped shape me into who I am right now. I’ve grown from a cautious, observant child to a young woman who knows her mind, her worth, who she wants to be, how she functions in any group, and most of all, she knows her heart.”

Nicholaí Martinez-Vergara

NICHOLAÍ MARTINEZ-VERGARA ('19) WINS 1st PLACE

Congratulations to Nicholaí Martinez-Vergara (Studio ’19, Gramercy Arts ‘23), who won first place in an art competition organized by OCANY, a nonprofit civil rights organization, to raise awareness and combat hate crimes through art. During an interview on CBS New York, Nicholaí stated that the message of his winning piece, ‘Ripping Through’ was “the power in fighting against hate together. The hands emerging through the canvas represent our collective strength and the chain symbolizes what we’ve all had to endure. As a member of the LGBTQ+ community I encourage others to be strong, be different, be your own self.”

Testimonials

“The genuine desire to learn that was cultivated at Studio has become my greatest asset. In high school, I did not hesitate to fully participate in class and work to the best of my ability because of the drive to learn for the sake of learning that I developed at Studio.”
