Annual Fund

Janet Rotter

The Annual Fund is an important part of nearly every independent, not-for-profit school across America.  Because tuition alone does not completely cover annual operating expenses, the purpose of the Annual Fund is to raise the money needed to fill the gap between tuition income and yearly operating expenses.

Each year, beginning in November and concluding at the end of January, the Annual Fund appeal is made to our entire school community of parents, past parents, alumni, and friends.  This fund provides unrestricted and immediately available funds to the operating budget that enable us to provide the best educational programs for our children, buy library books, art supplies, and sports equipment, support faculty salaries, increase financial aid, and make improvements to the physical plant.  It also allows us to maintain our very high teacher-student ratio, offer a broad range of extracurricular programs, finance day and overnight trips, and provide professional development opportunities to our faculty and staff.

Contributions to the Annual Fund are tax-deductible and crucial to the on-going health of the school.  The Studio School community has a strong tradition of giving financial gifts, as well as those of time, talents and active participation in the life of the school.  The School deeply appreciates all donations and encourages every family to participate to the best of their ability. We aim for 100% parent involvement.

Make a donation by the end of December, to be sure that your gift qualifies for a calendar-year deduction (please make sure that your envelope is postmarked by December 31st).   All gifts to the 2008 Annual Fund must be made prior to June 30th, 2008, in order to be counted for the 2007-2008 academic year.
